I searched the Internet for lists of the best Steven Spielberg movies of all time. Criteria included the movies being ranked, not just listed, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 65 lists. I took the 65 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every film. I ended up averaging the rankings each movie got and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists that movie was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom. (I’m not including links to all the lists because there are just so many.)

The movies that were on the most lists (out of 65) were:

• E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982) – all 65 lists
• Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) – all 65 lists
• Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) – 64 lists
• Jaws (1975) – 64 lists
• Schindler’s List (1993) – 64 lists
• Saving Private Ryan (1998) – 64 lists
• Jurassic Park (1993) – 62 lists
