I searched the Internet for lists of the best crime comedy movies of all time. Criteria included the movies being ranked, not just listed, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 14 lists. I took the 14 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every film. I ended up averaging the rankings each movie got (there were 100 that were on at least 2 lists) and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists that movie was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The movies that were on the most lists (out of 14) were:

  • A Fish Called Wanda (1988) – 9 lists
  • The Big Lebowski (1998) – 8 lists
  • Snatch (2000) – 8 lists
  • The Sting (1973) – 7 lists
  • Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) – 7 lists
  • Knives Out (2019) – 6 lists
  • Ocean’s Eleven (2001) – 6 lists
  • The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) – 6 lists
  • Raising Arizona (1987) – 6 lists
  • The Ladykillers (1955) – 6 lists
  • Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) – 6 lists
  • Bottle Rocket (1996) – 6 lists
