I searched the Internet for lists of the best Peanuts specials and movies of all time. Criteria included them being ranked, not alphabetical, and generally created by groups, whether teams or committees or based on general public voting (like Ranker.com).

I was able to find 14 lists. I took the 14 lists and added all their content into a spreadsheet, noting the rank of every special. I ended up averaging the rankings each one got and dividing that average by a factor of the number of lists that cartoon was on. The lowest score meant a high ranking average on many lists. The complete spreadsheet is attached at the bottom.

The Peanuts specials that were on the most lists (out of 14) were:

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) – all 14 lists
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966) – all 14 lists
  • A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973) – 12 lists
  • It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974) – 11 lists
  • Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown (1975) – 9 lists
  • Charlie Brown’s All Stars! (1966) – 9 lists
  • Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! (1985) – 9 lists
